Mount No. 2: Pomp and Circumstance
Staghorn Fern (Platycerium bifurcatum) cluster mounted on an up-cycled and water treated epoxy resin table. The shimmering table rivals the standard of traditional taxidermy often seen in high-class homes that demand pomp and dominance. As it grows it will spread green flat plates coating the moss ball and mount making it seem to grow directly from the table.
Care for this hefty cluster by placing it in bright, indirect light and keeping it in a warm, humid environment (60–80°F). Water by soaking or thoroughly misting the root ball once a week—more often in dry conditions—then let it drain well so there is no wall drippage. Mist the fronds (leaves) regularly to boost humidity, and feed monthly with a diluted, balanced fertilizer during the growing season.
Staghorns represent rebirth and eternity.
